Over 17 years experience developing environment art on various platforms from the Nintendo64 through to today's consoles/pc's. Passionate about art in general, particularly architecture - both real and fantastical. My classical animation background has given me a solid foundation not only in drawing, but in film and cinematic techniques. A further background in Psychology/Philosophy at the university level has honed my written and oral communication skills.

My responsibilities as a Lead Artist included:

  • Managing a team of 8-10 environment artists
  • Providing training to new artists and integrating them into the pipeline
  • Creating and maintaining department production schedules
  • Liaise with Producers, Directors and other departmental Leads.
  • Ensuring the vision of the Art Director is maintained during the creation of environment assets
  • Foresee, troubleshoot and resolve technical issues affecting in-game performance and memory related to environment streaming, lighting and construction.
  • Write and administer performance reviews
  • Provide feedback and guidance on the development of new pipelines/tools
  • Motivating, mentoring and ensuring artists on my team continue to grow, both professionally and artistically
